Woof! It is Tuesday and that means time for a new recipe to share with your parents, one that is healthy and Grr8 for us! Ok, maybe Grr8 for your parents too! Woof!
This week’s recipe is low in fat and phosphorus (woofee I had to Goo-gle that one!). Get this, if you have kidney disease, then your diet needs to be low in phosphorous (that is a big word!). Veggies like squashes, zucchini, and sweet potatoes are low in (omd that word again!) phosphorus.
Or, if you have liver disease or chronic pancreatitis (Buffy used to get that a lot, Mom knew what to do!), your diet needs to be low in fat (yep, that is what Mom did for Buffy).
Furiends, this recipe is Grr8 for you even you have any of these conditions. If not, this is still Grr8 for you!
- 2 1/2 cups rice flour or brown rice flour
- 1 cup cooked vegetables (winter squashes, zucchini, or sweet potatoes)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 6 tbsp low sodium, low fat vegetable broth
- 1/2 cups cold water
Bake in preheated oven at 350 F for 25 minutes. Feed to your dog up to a week and freeze leftovers.
